Must I do it on the minimal installation of FreeBSD? Will there be problems if I install Apache/mySQL/php ...etc on my own?

    What do you guys recommend?

It must be a fresh install! If you install apache it's just going to broke stuff. Well I recompile the kernel and update to stable before install cpanel. :D

When we do the usual wget http://layer1.cpanel.net blah blah blah, how do you know if its grabbing the latest release version or the stable version for cpanel?

I thought there's a couple of versions of cpanel avaliable to choose?
