Intelligent search stops working after being on the page a while

We're running WHMCS 4.5.1 and if we load a page, the intelligent search works fine. However, after a while (less than an hour) being sat on that page it stops working and returns nothing for any given term. Is there a place where one can change the amount of time it takes before this stops working? I ask because on another of our installations it seems to take a lot longer before it stops working.
