    Hi

    We're running cPanel with mailscanner / clamAV installed. We have a client who requires that any 'internal' email (where the sender and the recipient are on the same domain) be bcc'd to a general collection / auditing address.

    The rule would be something like this:

    Code:
    If (((sender == *@domain.com) and (recipient == *@domain.com)) and (recipient != [email]collector@domain.com[/email])) {

    forward-to [email]collector@domain.com[/email]

    }

    This is just pseudo-code - I have no idea what language I would need to be writing it in, or where I would need to insert the rule - this is the info I need :D

    Any advice much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,

    Shaun

    Go on, have a guess
    You can do this in MailScanner:

    You need to edit MailScanner.conf and search for

    Archive Mail =

    and change it to:

    Archive Mail = %rules-dir%/archive.rules

    Then go into the rules subdirectory and create a file called archive.rules and use the folloing format:

    Code:
    FromAndTo: *@customerdomain.com forward [email]monitor@otherdomain.com[/email]

    Then stop and restart MailScanner. Be very aware of the legal implicationns of facilitating this in your country.

    Thanks for your concern, however the collection wasn't actually for employee monitoring - it was for a 'distributed notes' implementation, so that various directors of the company could collate their collective email conversations in one area without needing to configure a client-side BCC setup.

    The rule has since been refined to match only specific from: addresses.
