I have created a mailing list "exco@domain.com" and have been using that without much issues. But I just noticed that if I put international language (e.g. Chinese) in as the subject, the message will simply disappear (undelivered without any error messages). Could this be due to exiscan? And if so, how can I remove the filter for exiscan. It doesn't seem to have a config file like MailScanner.

IF you use non-ascii characters you have to make sure that the email headers are encoded correctly. The subject requires the use of escape sequences and the message body is usually base64 or you can use a specific content-type. You have to remember that the SMTP protocol was written for 7-bit ASCII, anything beyond that requires modification of the appropriate header records.
