I rebuilt apache on one of our FreeBSD servers and now it won't start.

    /usr/local/sbin/httpd configtest
    says this:
Syntax error on line 206 of /usr/local/apache/conf/httpd.conf:
Invalid command 'LoadModule', perhaps mis-spelled or defined by a module not included in the server configuration

Not that it matters, but 206 is LoadModule rewrite_module libexec/mod_rewrite.so
It fails on every LoadModule call.

At first it seemed as if mod_so wasn't installed but here's what I get from /usr/local/apache/bin/httpd -l

    Compiled-in modules:
    http_core.c
    mod_env.c
    mod_log_config.c
    mod_mime.c
    mod_negotiation.c
    mod_status.c
    mod_include.c
    mod_autoindex.c
    mod_dir.c
    mod_cgi.c
    mod_asis.c
    mod_imap.c
    mod_actions.c
    mod_userdir.c
    mod_alias.c
    mod_access.c
    mod_auth.c
    mod_so.c
    mod_setenvif.c
    mod_ssl.c
    suexec: enabled; valid wrapper /usr/local/apache/bin/suexec

Does anyone have any clues as to what could be causing this problem?

You'll probably have to recompile Apache manually from the command line.

Every once and a while easyapache will complete but with errors you don't see causing the problem you indicated.

If you would like us to help, just drop us an e-mail.
