I have cPanel v11.30.1.4 and cannot delete an eMail forwarder that was loaded incorrectly

The site is a simple myexample.com site

The email forwarder was loaded as
supportABC@myexample.com.au (note the .au extension) but site is just myexample.com

The cPanel delete process will not delete the forwarder.

This BUG has been reported several times on this forum, but no fix to cPanel has been implemented.

    Hello BiterG,

You might try running this command in root SSH:

    Code:
    /scripts/fixvaliases
If that doesn't work, then you could manually edit /etc/valiases/ for the domain's file that contains the bad forwarder.

    Thanks!

    Thanks Tristan

But i am just a cPanel end user with a shared hosted account and cPanel has a bug and will not delete the forward. i have opened a ticket direct at cPanel, and have been working with staff there, but they can see the problem, but say they need root acces to server to look further. I don't have root access.
So, now we are trying to get the hoster to resolve and lodge their own ticket with cPanel. Fingers crossed this can get sorted before Xmas.

The hosting provider shouldn't have to open up a ticket. Simply link them to this forum thread to see the issue if they aren't able to figure out how to fix it. The details are here.

I am less concerned about getting my problem solved, and more concerned about having cPanel fix the TWO bugs that causes the problem.

Bug 1: cPanel allows the user to load an invalid email address into the Forwarder
Bug 2: cPanel cannot then remove the invalid email forward

As a programmer myself, I do not tell my clients to fix my bugs by having them drop down to sysadmin level within their SQL database. I fix the code as needed.

The data fix method as reported in these forums by going to the root of the servers perhaps does enable the forward to be deleted. That's not the whole point of my original post.
I am trying to help cPanel fix their problem.

If you believe this to be a known defect, we have a Bugs link promimently displayed at the top of the forum. If your original ticket was submitted as an issue not as a bug, please submit a bug ticket. That interface is provided specifically for such reports rather than the forums, which is why there is a specific area to submit them at http://go.cpanel.net/bugs
