I've recently noticed that my Apache error log on a server is slammed full of these errors constantly several times per minute:
[error] [client 66.249.72.147] Invalid method in request \x16\x03\x01
and
[error] [client 66.249.72.147] Invalid method in request \x80C\x01\x03\x01
The IP address is a GoogleBot, but after digging around the web for a week now I still can't seem to figure out why / how this is happening or what to do.
I've been combing the cPanel forums as well but all I've found so far is old threads unresolved that aren't allowing new posts and as of yet I'm still stumped on this.
Short of submitting a ticket to cPanel, anyone have any advice / experience with this?
Thanks for any help/thoughts!
