    hi guys

a server is down, and is requesting a reboot and is currently UP
I asked the DC to tell me the cause of the server crash
they indicate that look in /var/log/message , before the reboot

my query is: exactly what text string should I look in the message file, to know the cause of the server crash ?

    Hello @jlucho,

You can start by looking for entries with timestamps close to when your server first went down in the /var/log/messages and /var/log/dmesg log files. Feel free to post the log output here using CODE tags while ensuring to remove any identifying information from the output and we can see if there's anything obvious to note.

    Thank you.
