We are experimenting on a box using SIM integrity managers reboot function.

When the server goes critical, SIM kicks in and auto reboots the server, but when this happens all the ips go into the red and disconnect thus leaving us to manually add them back from the command line:

    /etc/rc.d/init.d/ipaliases start

Now we are seeking two solutions:

#1. can someone illlustrate a script that would modify sim or execute on any boot up that would check the ips and if found to be in the red, it would automatically run the above command?

    and

#2. Would anyone be able to suggest a reason tha tthey are unbinding in the first place?

I have ensured that the symlink exists and all the basic stuff...

    ipaliases exist in /etc/rc.d/rc3.d
    ln -s /etc/rc.d/init.d/ipaliases /etc/rc.d/rc3.d/S11ipaliases
    ipcheck test
    /sbin/chkconfig --list ipaliases
    results:
    ipaliases 0:eek:ff 1:eek:ff 2:eek:n 3:eek:n 4:eek:n 5:eek:n 6:eek:ff

    thank you...

Are you getting an error when ipaliases is brought up after the reboot ? There would probably be something in the logs that would tell you whats going wrong.
