ONe of my clients has a domain. LEts call it domain.com . He wants to make a subdomain that is secure- lets call it secure.domain.com . Is there a way to assign a seperate IP address to the subdomain? Because for secure sites, you need a dedicated IP, correct? So how would he make his subdomain have its own IP?

    Thanks

You would just give the 'domain.com' the dedicated IP. The user can then create the 'secure.domain.com' and it will be on the IP it needs to be on.

If you create the subdomain in WHM and NOT in cpanel, you can assign a dedicated IP to the subdomain seperate from the TLD.

Your customer would need to have atleast reseller level service available to him/her.

Create the subdomain account in WHM, and assign the IP then... Or create the subdomain, then click "List Accounts", then click the IP address listed for the account. You will be given options of available IP's to setup the subdomain on.

For secure sites, it's my understanding that you do NOT need a dedicated IP, if the host has a shared certificate installed.

Someone would have to clarify that.
