See, I commend you for stepping forward and telling people I am wrong... but the problem here is, I took the time to verify my facts before responding, whereas you jumped right in blind.Spiral said:IPB v1.3 is freeware and does not require a commercial license and it
can be legally used in Cpanel as well with no problem whatsoever
so the information posted by another user in this thread is wrong!

I am wanting to develop a script for my cPanel Addons manager which would allow my users to install their own "1 click" copy of Invision Power Board version 1.3 Final. I am aware that version 2.x is classified as commercial and requires a license to use, but 1.3 used to be free and I am wondering if it still falls under the GPL licensing, or if it is now not permitted to distribute the board in this way.
Thanks for answering,

Now... what were you saying about it being allowed? You can confirm this at any time by contacting the legal license holders for Invision Board at the posted address if you wish to further follow it up.[email protected] said:Hello,
You are not able to distribute our software in any way. This would be a direct violation of our terms of service and license agreements. If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to let us know. Have a great day!
