I have a VPS running WHM. One of my domains has a GeoTrust ssl cert that just expired.

    1. GeoTrust's pricing to renew or purchase an ssl is the same. so, do I need to "renew" or can I just purchase a new ssl?

    2. Is it an easier process in cPanel to renew an ssl? If I renew, do I use the same private key that currently exists and just create a new CSR? Or do I need to create a new private key?

    3. Do I do this via WHM or the domain's cPanel?

    Thank you,

    Hello Jack,

    1. You can purchase a new certificate or renew it. It is up to you.

    2. If you renew, you can use the same CSR to get the renewal I would presume. It is likely easier since you'd be using the same CSR and RSA key for the renewal. If you are buying a new cert, you would likely want to get a new CSR and RSA key.

    3. It's easier to do it via WHM for the process to reinstall the certificate.
