Is it just me, or is Horde excruciatingly slow to load at the user browser session end even over a T3 pipe?

Are there any tips to optimising the load to speed it up?

Thanks for any advice.

ps. I really miss Neomail, simple and quick, sometimes more is not better.

I've noticed this too for several months now and it's gotten to the point where I use Squirrel Mail instead. I have several servers all with the same problem.

Horde has always been slow for some reason. The worst is that it slows down randomly and then just speeds up again. So, half the time you can't even load your messages and you end up using Squirrelmail. You could ask your host to install another webmail program for you.

However, I suggest you use POP3 with Outlook or better yet Thunderbird (go to www.mozilla.org to download it free). It's very nice and it comes right to your desktop.

We have had this issue for ages with out any fix. Our solution was to add a cron job which kills all php processes every 2 hours. At least it works now...

How many courier-imap processes do you have?
I am also experiencing slowness, but I think it is caused by the 50+ imap processes that are active on our server.
