is it OK to ask server management from those who do not know cPanel

I know a very good server admin. He knows what he i doing
but he never uses cpanel or any other control panel

I want to ask him to take care of my server management but I AM worried
because this man does not know cpanel is it possible he makes issues?

It is very possible to make mistakes that will cause problems, if a server administrator is not familiar with cPanel. cPanel integrates very tightly with the operating system, and what works on a plain server with no control panel, or a server with a different control panel, might cause serious problems up to and including down time and data loss. If you want to hire a server administrator, it is best to hire one who is not only qualified but familiar with cPanel.

I would recommend getting someone who is familiar with cPanel - using someone who is not will not be able to resolve your issues quickly and efficiently, and with a lack of knowledge of its working may even make a detrimental change to your server. Whilst he may well be good at working on a plain server, knowledge of control panels is a must really if this is a production server.
