I have a client who is on an Apple mailing list. About twice a day he gets an automatically generated email telling him that an email to him bounced. I have looked in both exim_mainlog and exim_rejectlog and see nothing that indicates that mails from this list are being bounced.

Is it possible for an email to bounce and not get logged? Is it more likely a problem on their end? Anyone else seen this?

Bounces are all logged in exim_mainlog and should always show up there. I remember seeing this issue with the php.net mailing lists, however it went away on its own. I do however believe that this has to do with exim doing checks on senders before delivering mail.

Yeah, but I looked in both mainlog and rejectlog and nothing shows as being bounced. Nonetheless, he has forwarded me his bounce notifications from the list, so the list at least thinks messages are bouncing.
