Is the max number of mails that can be send from an account

Hi,

Are there security measures in place in cPanel that prevent large mailinglists? I have a new customer who sends out emails each thursday but things are not going as planned.

He uses a script and sets the mails to be send 1000 per 5 minutes. But the server stops accepting emails each time he has send 2000.
