    Folks,

I recently activated mod_ruid2 and external mailman links have broken.

Is there a solution to this problem?

I saw a EA4 mod_ruid2 patch on github but I was not sure how to use it.

    CpanelInc/mod_ruid2

    Hi @jimhermann

There really isn't an issue with mod_ruid2 + Mailman. The incompatibility comes into play when you've enabled the experimental setting:

    Code:
EXPERIMENTAL: Jail Apache Virtual Hosts using mod_ruid2 and cPanel® jailshell. [?]

You can check it in WHM>>Server Configuration>>Tweak Settings

I also want to point out that patch is quite old, sadly, the person who created it has since passed away so I'm unable to ask him if it's still relevant or needs updating.

Will mod_ruid2 protect the server if I disable the experimental setting?

    Hello @jimhermann

All mod_ruid2 does whether or not you've chrooted apache is run processes as the user. So that function will remain the same whether or not you're using the experimental setting. The only difference with the experimental setting is the user's Apache VirtualHost is chrooted into the jailshell environment -this is specifically what causes the issues with the mailman URL's. As far as I understand it you can still use jailshell just not this specific experimental setting.

    Thanks!
