Currently have a windows based email server and would like to migrate the users to cpanel mail. Is there any way to automate the migration?

We currently don't have migration tools from any Windows environments. However, if your email is in maildir format, our technical analysts can assist with providing you where those files would need to be placed in a cPanel/WHM environment.

Feel welcome to submit a support ticket so they can assist you: http://tickets.cPanel.net/submit

    Hello,

What is maildir format? Couldnt a tool be made to simply read & download via pop3? That tool I would imagine would be much simpler to code.

Can I still submit a ticket even though I am not a direct license holder? I thought I had to be direct in order to do that instead I have to go through my distributor.

    Thank you

I recommend going through your cPanel license provider first. They should be able to assist you with this. If for some reason they are unable to assist you, you are welcome to submit a ticket to us directly. Just select the option to submit a ticket without logging in.

Maildir is a format of storing email, a successor to the mbox format of storing mail. You're welcome to build such a tool if you desire.

I suppose I deserve that. :) No I simply meant perhaps there woul dbe a way to redeliver messages so it would be either be read by smtp or pop3 which already do a good job parsing mail rather than developing a tool that will read the mail via pop3 and parse it and then store it in the correct format. The second tool would most likely be far more expensive.

    Thank you anyway.

    I guess I'm getting closer.

I used to know what the script name was for adding accounts from the command line. What is it now? I need to 'pop' some accounts off of an old Windows box. Something called VOP mail. At one point I had a script that would read a file and create the accounts but I had trouble with the fetchmail portion.

    Thanks

/scripts/addpop will let you add a POP account via the command line.

If anyone needs something to automate this for web-based apps, you may want to use our APIs instead.
