    Hi everyone,

Need some advice/hints in relation to setting up a cPanel account/reseller account for a Japanese client.

I've been asked by one of my awesome customers "Do you support Japanese language with your hosting?" Now as far as I know, someone from Japan can visit and view my website, they can even access cPanel in a language other than english - but are they able to use their Japanese character set on my server....

It's just something I've never had float my way before so I don't really know.

    Appreciate your time.

    Cheers,
    Darren.

If you use english-utf8 (rather than english(sic.)) as their language file, they should be able to use their character set in the cPanel interface. The Apache server itself will support additional character sets. I remember having to use UTF-8 when I was building a Greek-language website. Only snag may be if they want to store Japanese characters in a MySQL database, I'd recommend reminding them to use a character set for their database that is compatible to their language (such as UTF-8).

cPanel provides a Japanese language file. It sets the encoding to UTF-8.
