I am having a problem with pages recognizing the US Dollar sign ($).
When I format a number as '$2.00' it is displayed as '¤2.00'.
I have spent many hours on this and have attempted several formats all
to receive the same results. I have learned that the '¤' is the
universal symbol for currency, but I need the USD.

Doesn anyone know how to correct this?

Ive never ever coded in JSP, so im only taking a guess, but have you tried using \$ ? I know in PHP you need to have \$ so it doesnt think its a variable :)
