    DNS Functions

    edit DNS zone

if your web host does not have it enabled you will not have access to it

They will also need to edit your domain entry in httpd.conf for your doamin for sub domain wild card to work and where to redirect *.domain.com

If you want to use wild card you do just adding the *.subdomain will not redirect the site apache config files will need to be edited

just a site note enabling wild card will make all subdomains redirect to the wild card directory

so there would not be any point to adding them in cpanel unless you wanted to use mail on them

In case you missed it: yes, there are some lines that need to be added to httpd.conf file for this to work properly.
