Hello,

when having WHM/cpanel server mainly hosting smaller accounts, small mysql databases, should i keep keep alive default Off or Enable it? Some optimisation service reported to me that having KeepAlive Off is not good..

KeepAlive Off
KeepAliveTimeout 5
MaxKeepAliveRequests 100

Thx

This really has to do with ftp and sftp sessions. Keepalive will keep the connection active so a user doesn't have to reconnect if they spend a few minutes doing something before uploading again. It really has nothing to do with optimizing anything. If you do enable it change the timeout to at least 30 seconds instead of 5 or it will use a fair amount of bandwidth.

But unless you have users complaining about disconnection issues I wouldn't worry about it.

Hello :)

To clarify for other users, I believe you are referring to the Apache settings, as listed in:

"WHM Home » Service Configuration » Apache Configuration » Global Configuration"

I have moved this thread to the "Optimization" forum where you might receive more user-feedback.

Thank you.
