I got it here:
ftp://updates.redhat.com/7.2/en/os/i686/kernel-2.4.18-17.7.x.i686.rpm
I did one server and it's working fine so far.

Well i am not the only one experiencing problems with this kernel. It seems that when installing this kernel on a Compaq P4 1.7mhz server we are left with an unbootable server. Using RPM or from source the results are always the same. Im wondering if this kernel is just imcompatible with the Compaq P4. Has anyone else experienced this problem? I know at least 6 others running the same exact server with identical problems.[/quote:bf321b0a4c]
We have Compaq P4 and no problem with that kernel. It seems that you did something wrong.[/quote:bf321b0a4c]
6 people did something wrong? That doesnt make any sense.[/quote:bf321b0a4c]
ozzi4648,
Read this thread you are the one who reports bad experience, I cannot see the other 5!!!
Also all of our servers are Compaq and we have had no problem with 2.4.18-17.7.x kernel
