    Hi,

Our server encounters this problem on a weekly basis due to the following error.

    kernel:NMI watchdog: BUG: soft lockup - CPU#@ stuck for 67s! [migration/2:19]

As a result, our server stops responding and we had to perform a power reboot, then things will resume as per normal.

But this problem persists on a weekly basis and it is extremely annoying, causing unnecessary downtime.

I seek your professional advice. Thank you.

    Hello,

This issue is something that's occurring on the OS level of the server. I would implore you to check out CentOS's forums as it appears some others have encountered the same issue:

    https://www.centos.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=60087
    https://www.centos.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=66623
    https://www.centos.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=66093

Based on the discussion in those threads it seems as though sometimes the issue appears to be caused by overcommitment of resources on a VM system.

If you're unsure how to investigate this you may want to enlist the assistance of a qualified system administrator. If you don't have one you might find one here: System Administration Services | cPanel Forums .

    Thanks!
