    Hi

I wonder how I can compile in support for my disk during upgrade.

I have a SAS raid device that my disks are connected to. In order to install CentOS and for CentOS to detect my disks, I had to run "install dd" during clean install and choose additional drivers located on a usb memory stick i have. Now, my disks is visible at once.

But, how do I do this when I want to upgrade to latest kernel? yum kernel makes the system unbootable, so I must add the driver into the kernel somehow before reboot I guess.

    Anyone know how?

    connect your server with putty.

    yum update kernel

Will this keep the custom modules (like the SAS/raid-drivers) ?
