    Hi,

We've recently installed a new cPanel server and were in the process of installing the Dutch language file. For some reason however the language file is not imported completely, although it was used on multiple other servers in the past. After importing the following files :

    Code:
    /usr/local/cpanel/base/frontend/x3/lang/dutch
    /usr/local/cpanel/lang/dutch

differ in size compared to our other servers.
Is there a way to have them identical to those of our other server?

    Thanks,
    Richard.

I'm assuming you're using the user-contributed Dutch language files available at: http://lang.cPanel.net

Be sure to use "X3 Dutch," not "Dutch." Using "Dutch" will result in an incomplete translation of the x3 interface.

    Hi cPanelDavidG,

We're definitely using the X3 version, which was used for all of our cPanel servers, before without a problem. However this time, running :

    Code:
    /usr/local/cpanel/bin/x3_langimport

did not import all the translated items. We've also downloaded the files from another cPanel server and uploaded them to the new server, but not all translated item seem to be imported. Is this a (known) bug?

The only difference I can think of is the version of CentOS which is :
    Code:
    WHM 11.23.2 cPanel 11.23.6-S27698
    CENTOS Enterprise 5.2 x86_64 on standard - WHM X v3.1.0

on the new server and the other servers have
    Code:
    WHM 11.23.2 cPanel 11.23.6-S27698
    CENTOS Enterprise 4.7 x86_64 on standard - WHM X v3.1.0

installed, but that should not make any difference when importing a language file, should it?

    Try this:
    - Download the "X3 Dutch" language file from http://lang.cPanel.net
    - Go to your WHM interface and in the "Languages" section click on "Upload a Language File"
    - Upload the X3 Dutch language file downloaded (as-is) from http://lang.cPanel.net

If that does not resolve your issue, please submit a support ticket so our technical analysts can take a look at this for you.

Ok, I've done the following :
    • WHM->Languages->View installed languages, currently shows "Dutch" for "root" and "X3"
    • WHM->Languages->Delete a language file, "Dutch" - "Root, Addons and all themes"
      Code:
      Results

      Deleting base language file ....
      Deleting addon specific files ....
      Deleting theme specific files ....
      Done.

The following language files have been removed:

      /usr/local/cpanel/lang/dutch
      /usr/local/cpanel/base/frontend/default/lang/dutch

    • WHM->Languages->View installed languages, does not show "Dutch" any more (which is correct)
    • WHM->Languages->Upload root language file (downloaded from other server)
    • WHM->Languages->Upload X3 file (downloaded from other server)
    • WHM->Languages->View installed languages, currently "Dutch" in NOT shown (which is not correct)

It appears the uploaded files are not being processed by cPanel, that's why I used the /usr/local/cpanel/bin/x3_langimport script, which apparently only imports part of the translated items...

    I created new language file.

If I translate X3 theme via web browser's "inline edit" (great feature btw), translation are saved in mylanguage.local in directory /usr/local/cpanel/base/frontend/x3/lang/.

"mylanguage" file remains unchanged (english). How can I merge these translations from "mylanguage.local" to "mylanguage" file and to /usr/local/cpanel/lang/mylanguage file?

You have to merge the files manually, removing the mylanguage.local in the process.
