Large files in the /tmp directory, can I delete them?

    Hello everybody,
    I find that many big size file named php3mIOMG , phppcIIx2 ,php*******.....exists in the /tmp directory.Some of them are 250MB in size.What are they? Can I delete them?

    Hello,

    Yes, You can remove that files from /tmp but first I will suggest you please try to scan your /tmp directory through LMD(Linux Malware Detect) May be that files infected with the malware

    Hello :)

    You may be able to determine which user the files are coming from, depending on your PHP handler. If you find they are from a single account, and disk space is a concern, you could have that account configure an alternate tmp location.
