    Hi!

Some of our clients have large email inboxes (5 GB+). Those users never appear to be among the heavy resource hogs, only clients with PrestaShop / Magento / Joomla installations.

Is that correct - do users with large inboxes don't strain the server?
What is your experience in this matter?

    Hello :)

I think it would depend on how often they check their email, and how long it took to accumulate 5GB of usage. If there is heavy email activity over a short period of time, then that would likely contribute more to the overall resource usage of the server. The size of the inbox alone is not always a determining factor in the amount of resources used by an account.

    Thank you.

To elaborate on what Michael said, if the user never checks his/her mail, then the only resource the mail uses is disk space. Mail just sitting on the hard drive not being used is not going to affect the CPU or RAM, only disk space.
