    Hello,

What is the latest perl that could be installed on a redhat 7.3 box?

I remember upgrading one of our 7.3 servers to run perl 5.8.1 a quite some time ago but using the cpanel installed is not working 100% when I try it on a new machine.

I also tried upgrading the server running 5.8.1 to 5.8.4 and started to have problems with some scripts. Reverting to 5.8.1 did not solve the issue.

I understand that playing with perl could break cpanel, are there any specific steps I should be trynig?

    Thanks a lot,
    Hedgy

I installed the latest perl no problems. What problems are you experiencing?

    Go on, have a guess
So long as you use the cPanel perl installer you shouldn't really have problems:
    http://layer1.cpanel.net

Just make sure that after installing it, that you run:

    /scripts/rpmup

And keep running it until it runs clean (i.e. installs nothing new). You will then have to reinstall any extra modules that you put in by hand.
