    Hey all - I have a question about the Latest Visitors stat.

    I have searched posts here and found no help :( so i'll post myself. This seems to track down to the last file viewed, which is not helpful at all. For a test, I clicked a known link back to my site from another and here's what I got:

    Host: 12-221-156-183.client.insightbb.com Url: /ads/images/horizontal/468x60-ee.gif Http Code : 200
    Date: Jun 13 10:49:17 Http Version: HTTP/1.1" Size in Bytes: 9846
    Referer: http://www.mydomain.com/ Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322)

    Now. This *SHOULD* read (IMHO) as

    url = /index.php
    referrer = site_that_links_to_me

    Is there any way to config this so it tracks the initial referral?

    Thanks! Feel free to hit me up on ICQ too...

    Nope, that's how web server logs work, they do not distinguish between mime-types that are requested when generating their logs and cPanel don't filter them either, and neither should they.

    You get the latest web server requests from your site. These will invariably be the contents of a viewed page.

    For what you want, you're better off looking at the Raw Log File.

    ;) That's why it's usually worth the wait for the daily stats run to finish and use something more user friendly like AwStats or Webalizer :)
