We have a user that was suffering from leechers so they enabled protection. The protection is working from the logs:

    128.59.188.45 - - [31/Mar/2006:15:37:46 -0600] "GET /bandwidththief.gif HTTP/1.1" 403 - "http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=9956557" "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.1) Gecko/20060111 Firefox/1.5.0.1"

What I am seeing though is that in /tmp there is being a file created called dos-xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx for every single block it does. Is that normal? I have never seen Cpanel do that.

    Go on, have a guess
    Kris,

Are you sure those /tmp/dos-xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx files aren't being created by mod_(dos)evasive? IIRC, that's what those are.
