I was somewhat confused about installing zend guard loader as there is this ominous sounding license agreement. So a sales chat with Zend revealed the following and I think it is good for the hosting community to understand this.

Trying to understand under what conditions we can install zend guard loader on our web servers.

When I go to install program on cpanel (easy apache), it warns me that I need to accept the license agreement, which talks about the licensee paying your fee
Howard
there is no fee for the loader
the Zend Server yes there is a fee
You
so for loader, who is the licensee, I am guessing whoever developed the php script?
Howard
the licensee is the owner of the server on which it is installed
You
Ok, so I am a shared web hosting company. I own the servers, that makes me according to your comment the licensee, which means it is free or not?
Howard
it is free
You
Thanks for that, but I still have the issue of accepting http://static.zend.com/topics/guard-license-agreement.txt
Howard
well that is our standard EULA
You
wow
Howard
if you are using Zend Guard Loader there is no charge for it
if you are still uncertain then you could send an email to [Removed]
he looks after your market
You
thanks for the help
Howard
welcome
