I'm slowly getting to grips with WHM after never using it before - it's quite a task but I'm managing it :)

I'm now struggling with the actual and allocated resources of resellers. I'm currently setting up accounts (all test a/c's) using the method detailed here [http://216.118.116.105/read.php?TID=5450] whereby the 'dummy' reseller account is allocated the resources which the reseller can then create their own domain account it.

Ideally I would like to allow my resellers to be able to oversell on their bandwidth and space (or possibly just bandwidth). Is this possible?

EG: If a reseller package has 1 GB space and 10 GB bandwidth and the reseller has sole 500 MB and 10 GB worth of accounts, I would like them to have the ability to create more even though their bandwidth allocation is reached. This is because the majority of accounts don't use anywhere near their full amount. Obviously if their limit is reached in actual usage then this would not allow more creations.

Also, I don't like the idea of restricting resellers to only creating accounts on packages they have previously setup so enabled the 'Quota Modification' and 'Limit Bandwidth' sections. Is this wise?

I'm really struggling to get my head around this so any help is appreciated.

Wow, thanks for your reply again... you're really helping me get my head around this.

I hadn't thought of just limiting the webspace in the Reseller Center and will give this a try. How will this affect the bandwidth though as there will be no limit set on this anywhere for the reseller?

Yes thats what I was doing before starting this thread but it doesn't seem to allow anything like overselling and will not allow creation of new accounts once the allocated limit is reached.

Thanks again

No worries... thanks :)

Out of interest, do you (or anyone else) give access to the 'Quota Modification' and 'Limit Bandwidth' screens?
