I'm trying to use PAM to limit the number of processes a particular user can have. I've tested it and it works perfectly in a shell, but Apache/phpSuExec doesn't seem to be restricted by it. Perhaps I'm confused about how this works, but I was under the impression that adding e.g. "user hard nproc 15" would limit the user to 15 processes including PHP processes. What am I missing?

Thanks, but that's essentially just a trimmed down version of the man page. Have you successfully limited the number of processes which Apache can create as an individual user via phpSuExec?
