Hi,

I have been looking for an Microsoft exchange server alternative for Linux (specifically Centos 6.5). I need it to work with outlook 2013 straight off the bat (without the need of plugins for outlook).

The problem I am facing is any i have tried many linux alternatives (open xchange, sogo, zimbra, zafara etc.) and have all been conflicting with cPanel/WHM and httpd.

What I need is some software or script which runs alongside cPanel which is able to support 2 way synchronisation to Outlook 2003 of Calendar and Contacts. I'm not greatly fussed about the mail working with it as i can use cPanel itself for the email. Caldav and CardDav i have tried, and are not directly compatible with Outlook so that sadly isn't a option.

I would appreciate a push in right direction of how I can achieve this.

Thanks.

You can't replace the mail server that cPanel uses - at least not easily. If you need to use something separate, I would install it on a separate server and point your mail over to that one instead and NOT have it run alongside cPanel. cPanel is not designed to work with other local mail systems.

Hello :)

Yes, cPanel is only designed to work with Exim. You could setup a private mail server with your preferred software, and then update the MX entries for your domain names so the email is handled on the remote mail server.

Thank you.
