Hello, Im running around 100 websites on CentOS 5.4 (VMware ESXi) with 4GB of ram and recently the load has been increasing. Is there any way to lower the load?

First, you need to check what is causing the load average to go high and accodingly take the appropriate action. Monitor your server and once the load average goes high, execute the following commands and forward the output

this should tell you what processes were running and the resources they were using at the time the load average was high.
