I dont seem to be recieving any emails. I can telnet to port 25 and all, and manually submit and email to the server. But it always bounces back from every user and every domain with "local delivery failed" error message. Any ideas?

    FIXED

Working with cPJosh I got the problem fixed.

    [/var/log]# ll /usr/sbin/sendmail
/bin/ls: /usr/sbin/sendmail: No such file or directory

dunno what happened to sendmail... it just disappeared. Recreated the softlink to exim and it works.

shit, same here. I've been waiting for some important documents, and they just called me and told me that my box is bouncing them.

We've seen alot of these today... I've let bdraco know about it.

For a temporary fix just issue the command

    ln -s /usr/sbin/exim /usr/sbin/sendmail

This appears only on my RedHat 8 boxes. None of my 7.3 boxes have the problem. Can anyone confirm?

We are getting loads of bounces to root from all 3 boxes. The symlink is correct to. Cpanel is not!

    Go on, have a guess
This thread is a year and a half old! Why are you trying to create this symlink? it already exist, as shown by the response to the command you've used.

i have a sugestion here for cpanel.

do something about old threads. move them to archive, or modify the code and issue a warning message everytime someone is trying to post in 1 year old threads.

there are some users that simply do not pay attention, and may break theirs servers using advice from 1 year old threads.

Well, maybe next time around they'll pay better attention when it comes to their servers... if they don't learn from their experience, well, those people just can't be helped.

Actually these old threads might be useful at some times.

I just had a "local delivery failed" problem after Anand's "exiscan+clam+exim autoinstaller". All local deliveries failed if spam assasin was enabled.
    The logs reported that
    "
T=virtual_sa_userdelivery: Child process of virtual_sa_userdelivery transport returned 127
(could mean unable to exec or command does not exist) from command: /usr/sbin/sendmail
    "
After exploring /usr/sbin folder and noticing that sendmail was missing, I gave it a shot and tried what was tried before.

At the moment it looks like the symlink fixed my problem.

But there's a point that these old threads should be somehow different from the new ones.. Some other background color for very old messages perhaps.. just an idea.

Also that warning message when posting to over an year old threads sounds like an good idea.
