    Hey Forum-

    (FreeBSD 6.0)

    1) Does anyone have some better detail as to the directory structure of how cPanel gets installed? ie: where is the mail spool? Where are the maildirs for a domain? the website files for a domain? Looking at the docs I'm going to guess the mail spool is standard Exim in /var and that web and email stores go in home?

    2) Is it possible to restrict alias emails to only be allowed to forward to the local domain? ie: not to forward to people's AOL accounts? or see 3...

    3) Are aliases still filtered for mail with a spamd / clamav setup or do only mailboxes get filtered? or from reading the docs can you even have an alias or is everything a mailbox with forwarders enabled or not?

    Go on, have a guess
The actual spool files are in /var/spool/exim/input while the emails are in transit. Delivered emails go to /home/username/mail/*. If you're using the older cppop/cpimap it will be in mbox format. If you're using courier-imap it will be in maildir format.

It's not possible to restrict where forwarders are set within cPanel, you'd have to write your own script to check that.

Forwarders are not filtered by SpamAssassin with the cPanel configuration (they are if you use MailScanner, for example).

If you create both a POP account and a forwarder for the same address email will be delieverd to both.
