Hello,

We would like our technical support staff to be able to login to any customers cPanel account when doing diagnostics with the customer- so that the customer does not have to say the password via the phone call, which can be quiet complex.

Can anybody think of a way to achieve this? We only want them to be able to access cpanel and not WHM.

I looked at using;

SecureRemoteLogins < 11_24 < TWiki

But then they can get to WHM via the button in the cPanel interface if selecting the resellers username in the drop-down user list.. I thought about maybe changing the skin for the reseller to not have the WHM button but this means maintaining a skin for this.

Idea's ?

Nathan,
This is the only way for your techs to login to a user's cpanel w/o a password of this time. The link back to WHM is only displayed when a user to logged in using this method (meaning that your regular users will not see this at all).

Modifying the x3 page would be an option, however they would still be able to access WHM if they crafted the link themselves.

Just click on the cpanel link in "List Accounts" in WHM ....

Your staff can jump into any client's Cpanel from that without password

(And no, the client does not need to have WHM access themselves and no
this does not give the client WHM access either contrary to what you said)
