    Hello,

I am trying to figure out why my website is waiting 4-5 seconds to start loading.

It's only slow the first time, firefox says Connecting to www.xx.yy and after 4-5 seconds loads the page. After the first time rest of the pages load very fast.

    Server is from softlayer 8*2.33GHz / 4GB ram / SCSI 15k disks ~0.20 load

I have added Hostnamelookups Off to httpd.conf
I have checked .htaccess and there is no Deny from xxx.yyy.com
    I have apache 2.2, php 5, mysql 5
    page generation time is ~0.010

The site is not using htaccess, have AllowOverride None in httpd.conf

    resolv.conf has
    nameserver 10.0.80.12
    nameserver 10.0.80.11
    nameserver 208.67.222.222
    nameserver 208.67.220.220
and they are listed in named.conf as trusted (first two are datacenter and later opendns)

I have tried disabling apf and it didnt help

what could delay the first connection 4-5 seconds? any help/idea appreciated

Caching, rss feeds, poorly coded pages? Any number of things. Got a link to look at it in real time?

The pages load fast for me at first, and then stall after jumping around a bit. Do you have mod_evasive installed on this server? Anything in the error logs? Are these feeds cached and using a temp directory on your account?

    mod_evasive is not installed

page content doesnt use feeds, local mysql + php only

    just noticed

    Code:
child pid 5920 exit signal Segmentation fault (11)
    in /usr/local/apache/logs/error_log

    MPM is worker
