I have a client that wishes to have subscriptions to access either their entire website or parts of one. Does anyone out there have any experiece with one that works well with Cpanel et. al?

I even tried looking on some porn sites - but do not easily see what software they use.

(No client does not want to run porn. Not on my server!)

    Go on, have a guess
Purely for research of course :p

You could look for a membership type script on the likes of www.hotscripts.com

    LT,

I've used/recommended several different scripts/services over the years.

In essence (and I'm sure you've done this already), you need to know what your client truly needs.
Will they be charging for their subscriptions? If so, do they have their own merchant account or will they be using a third party processor?

Some scripts rely on .htaccess authentication. This won't work on your box if it is a php script and you have phpsuexec enabled.

As well, what type of traffic do they anticipate?

Most importantly, what have they budgeted for such a system?!

Were you running phpsuexec? Have been wating for an answer from them on that.

I am trying to see if amember has server licensing.

    No.
I have never used amember as such. If .htaccess is the issue (as phpsuexec wouldn't allow you to have .htaccess) you could move that to httpd.conf

    Cheers
