I guess this is more of a php issue rather than just a cPanel issue.

I want to give users the ability to download their backups via cPanel, as in the backups that are automatically taken via cPanel.

The issue is, it gives me a permissions error when I use PHP to look into the backups directory (duh), the only way that I can think of to fix it, is to open the permissions up, but I believe that would give users access to it via SSH, and I cant have them downloading other peoples backups.

What can I do to let my script look within the directory, and grab files out of the directory if possible?

Matt over in QA did a post a while back that dealt with transferring accounts in an automated fashion. The first half of this transfer process was generating the backup and downloading it via our APIs (e.g. via a PHP script)

That is somewhat useful, but the thing is, that only looks at their backups... my backups are in /backup/cpbackup/daily or weekly or monthly. id like them to be able to download their backups that I take via cpanel..

Automated backups should be available for download in cPanel at the top of the Backups screen under 'System Backups'
