Hi everyone,

I don't know how this happened but I suddenly started to receive mails from checksrvd and when I went to investigate why, I couldn't bring whm up (error 503) and through ssh I discovered that the scripts folder (usr/local/cpanel/scripts) is gone... Therefore I cannot run a upcp --force to reinstall cpanel...

So I though I could try to reinstall cpanel completely to rebuild the folder and the missing files, using latest.sh but the script end on:
Code:
2016-08-22 14:31:01 570 ( INFO): Installing /usr/local/cpanel files.
2016-08-22 14:31:01 574 (DEBUG): HTTPUPDATE is set to httpupdate.cpanel.net

2016-08-22 14:31:01 725 (FATAL): Unable to fetch file updatenow.static.bz2.
and if I try to connect wget this file from another pc:
Code:
wget http://httpupdate.cpanel.net/cpanelsync/installer/cpanel/scripts/updatenow.static.bz2
--2016-08-22 14:31:19-- http://httpupdate.cpanel.net/cpanelsync/installer/cpanel/scripts/updatenow.static.bz2

requête HTTP transmise, en attente de la réponse… 403 Forbidden
2016-08-22 14:31:20 erreur 403 : Forbidden.
Any idea, why I get this error?

Or is there any location where I can get the different cpanel scripts. Unfortunately, I don't have access at the moment to my backup which should include the system files.

The system is a VPS running centos 6 by the way. All other services: mail, websites, etc. work.

Thanks in advance

Sylvain

Problem solved:
I created a VM with the same centos
Installed cpanel on it
Tar the script folders and scp it to my server
Ran upcp --force
Everything seems to be back to normal. It will be nice if there was a location to download individual files from cpanel without having to go through the latest install script...

Thanks

Sylvain

Hello,

I'm happy to see you were able to address the issue. Generally, we'd advise users to first determine why the /scripts directory was removed because that shouldn't happen on it's own. The full URL varies, but this one is for cPanel 58.0.23:

Code:
http://httpupdate.cpanel.net/cpanelsync/11.58.0.23/cpanel/scripts/
Thank you.
