is it a wordpress website ? if so you can change the password for the admin user from phpmyadmin directly by editing the Database that is associated with your website.

    Hi,

It appears that you may have changed the user's attributes also, making it normal user when you actually changed the password. Login in back to phpmyadmin, change the attributes and role back to the admin for the user..
