My client cannot send emails to any gmail account.

Automatically bounces with the message indicated above.

Previously they had a virus that was sending spam, but this was already fixed.

Likewise, they still can't send to gmail.

It also affects other customers, since all their emails reach the spam folder.

Is this your own server, or a shared one.
If it's shared, It's possible that the poor reputation is from other users, and you may have little control over it.

Check the domains and your server IP for blacklist entries on MXToolbox.com, and try to fix any that are listed.
Enable DKIM , SPF and DMARK on the domain in question.

These may help to improve the reputation.

If the problems have been fixed already, then it could take Google a while to rebuild your reputation.

It is a shared server, where I have several clients.

I have total control over the records, and all are correct.

Nor is my IP blacklisted.

How long does it take google to rebuild reputation?

How long is a piece of string ?
Who knows,

The goolge page I found just said "may take a short while"

Do you share the server with other resellers, or is it your own dedicated server/VPS
If your'e not sure then have a look at this page, pop your sever IP in the box, see how many domain names come back.

When I run it against my IP, some of my domains don't show up either, so probably not.
The idea was to see if it came back with tons of domains that you didn't recognise (ie other resellers).
But you already confirmed that you have your own IP.

I'm at a loss as what to suggest other than what I mentioned earlier.
