I setup all new users to use jailshell. However, some of the users run cron scripts which use lynx to run their web programs. Others use lynx to run cron jobs in drupal based CMS. In all these cases, using lynx at the shell prompt causes an error because the lynx master configuration file /etc/lynx.cfg is not available in jailshell.

Is there anyway for me to configure what goes into a jailshell or not?

    TIA

How about vi? vi is there but it refuses to link up in this jailshell because my vi is "symlinked" to /etc/alternatives/vi .. any ideas? :)

vi shouldn't be symlinked anywhere. It should be in /home/virtfs/USER/bin/ It might be hardlinked to /bin/ but it should still work.

Cool! so that works for USER. How do I ensure that all new accounts have this file without me copying the lynx.cfg file manually for each of them? I mean where is teh template file used for creating the virtfs?

My system must suck. :) I am using Mandrake and the way Cpanel set it up for mandrake doesn't work. It works just fine for my other RH servers though. I'll look more with this. :)

    Thanks Mr. Cipher.
