How to see if server has lynx and wget installed and if other cPanel clients can use them with cron?

lynx and wget are installed by default on most modern Linux distributions. Note, wget is often used to install cPanel/WHM itself.

The easiest way to test for this is to create an account with no shell access and set up a cron job to see if those utilities will work. Typically, in a cPanel/WHM environment even with no shell access, such utilities will function normally.

    Hi,

If your a customer ask your host. The reason I say this is we do not allow public access to wget, however we did copy wget to a different name for security reasons and allow the customers to use that modified name.
