Mail backup restore is not working

    Hello everyone,

    I created a backup of my mails using the backup wizard in CPanel.
    Everything seems to be right, i also created a home directory backup and a database backup.
    I managed to restore the homre backups and the database backup without any problem, however, when i try to restore the email backup i do not recieve any output (empty screen, nothing seems to be uploaded).

    Can someone help me with this, please?

    Hello :)

    Do you have root access to this server? If not, please report this issue to your hosting provider so they can review the cPanel error log and determine the specific cause of this problem.

    Thanks for your reply.

    I have root access but not access to ssh.
    I asked about it to my hosting provider and they said i have to fix it because i am the server administrator.

    Could you elaborate on this? Have you contacted your provide to ask them to grant you root SSH access?

    By that i mean i have limited access to whm but i don't have access to ssh.
    I need to pay extra to log in into ssh and it's only for certain client accounts...

    If you only have reseller access then you do not have root access to your server. Could you have your hosting provider take a closer look and determine why the restore is not working as expected?

    I already asked them, but they told me to ask here because they cannot giveme support for CPanel.

    You will need to either obtain "root" access to the server or have your hosting provider assist you with this issue. It's not really something you can troubleshoot with reseller access. You could try downloading the email backup to your computer, extracting the data, and manually uploading it as a temporary workaround. Or, ask your provider to open a ticket with us if they are unsure of how to resolve the problem.
