Mail being attack by SPAM ! URGENTLY

    Can you advise me what I can to stop the mailbomber attacking my Cpanel server as since this afternoon untill now I Keep on receive junk mail over 10000 within 6 hours and caused the CPU load hit 236% is there a way to block it from the Cpanel.

    Block the IPs that it is coming from would be the easiest.

    If you have root access.
    This will block total access to your server.

    ### replace xxxx with the ip # you wish to block ###

    /sbin/iptables -I INPUT 1 -s xxxx -j DROP

    ###after the above...run this one..to make them stick###
    ##otherwise..they will clear at reboot or restart of iptables##

    iptables-save > /etc/sysconfig/iptables

    If his being spam bombed blocking a single ip will do nothing. Chances are, his using many ips to bomb the guy.

    kill all your formmail.cgis.. there are enough posts in here which will tell you how to do that.
