Hello,

I have a client who's mail dir size is enormous (53GB). This is what I get when examining the size in ssh

du -hs /home/client/mail/
53G /home/client/mail/

I went into the subfolders one by one examining the size but I was unable to pinpoint which folder is so large. Any help in investigating this further will be much appreciated as I'm stumped right now.

How did you examine the sub-folders? Sometimes people miss to check the hidden folder size while checking the size of mailboxes. Did you check that too ( like .Trash )?

Hello,

Please try the following to count the sizes for hidden files as well:

Code:
du -sk .[!.]* *|sort -n
Run this at /home/username/mail location. After you find out the largest folder, cd into that folder and run the command again until you pinpoint the exact folder with the largest number of files or size.

Thanks!
